FAQ
How is real estate photography billed?
There are two basic charges involved in calculating real estate photography bills... the shooting fee for the labor charged by square foot or number of images and the licensing fee (rights to use intellectual property of the photographer).
What is a usage license?
A commercial photography usage license is an agreement between the intellectual property owner (the photographer/artist) and another party that wants to use the images, artwork, music, design, theory, patent, or any number of other intangible things for their commercial purposes.
The license spells out what that usage is exactly (MLS, social media, printed catalogs, etc), with a fee attached that’s based on value to the client. The broader the intended/licensed use, the higher the price tag. A home listed for sale is typically listed and sold within a certain period of time thereby ending the agreement at the close of that sale. It is essentially a short-term license with a definite end date. Rental properties are listed and rented multiple times where a landlord or property manager would likely use those images over and over again requiring a recurring use license. The same is true of builders, designers, stagers, and other vendors/contractors wanting to showcase their work to potential clients for future business.
When will we get our photos?
An online gallery will be available for limited download within 24 to 48 hours. No deliveries on Sundays or major national US holidays.
How many pictures will we receive?
Most packages result in a minimum of 15 digitally edited images, but we will capture and deliver as many photos as a property or purchase package will allow. Aerial-only sessions and headshot sessions could be as few as one single image.
What is intellectual property?
Intellectual property can be things like literary and artistic works, designs, and even company names. It can be a piece of music, a novel, an advertising slogan, a formula, or an invention. The most common categories of intellectual property rights are trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. The photographer/artist retains ownership and copyrights to each image.
Do you offer 3D/360 virtual tours?
Absolutely. Prices start at $150 ($0.10 per square foot) for 1,500sqft. We also offer walkthrough videos with and without scripted agent participation, social media content videos, event coverage, and professional head shots.
How far will you travel?
We travel... for food, for music, for art. There is a travel fee of $1 per mile after the first twenty-five (25) miles from Killeen. Other travel expenses may apply.
What's your cancellation policy?
I'm so glad you asked. We'd like some actual notice, but you're free to cancel until we pull up to the house. Once we get to the house, there is a $200 cancellation fee.
